The Shepaug Generating Station is a single-unit hydroelectric station located on the Housatonic River.
Weekly pond and release operations are conducted remotely from nearby Rocky River and are responsible for the forming of Lake Lillinonah. Shepaug station also contributes to the creation of a unique habitat for wildlife, including bald eagles.
