One of Cabot Hydro Station’s Maintenance Operators, Danny Deane, was honored last week by Business West’s “Forty Under Forty”, which recognizes  rising stars across our region – individuals who excel in business and involvement within the community – and celebrates their accomplishments. Danny not only keeps things humming at Cabot, he also serves as the Assistant Business Manager for Local 455 and runs two F45 Training franchises. His wife, Jessye, is a power house as well, serving as Director of Communications and Development for Community Action Pioneer Valley, at the center of helping local families navigate the COVID crisis, and on the Board of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.  Somehow the two of them also manage to raise three incredibly adorable children.

How have things changed for him in the past couple of months?  “I received the exciting news about 40 Under Forty on March 5th. We all know what happened in the following days – the whole world changed!” says Danny. “It’s been a challenging yet exciting time for my family. My wife and I started our businesses with the objective to change lives through health and fitness. We have treated this pandemic as an amazing opportunity to double down on that goal. The past two months have given me a better perspective of what it means to be essential. Although being an essential FirstLight employee is important, and maintaining our company’s reliability to the power grid is paramount, it’s the healthcare workers, grocery store cashiers, and first responders that I now have new appreciation for!“.

BusinessWest asked honorees to submit a video showing how they’re living and coping with the COVID-19 outbreak. Check out this link to Danny’s amazing video: https://bit.ly/2WVkwFp
