FirstLight Grant Helps Track Bird Migration in Connecticut
Earlier this year, FirstLight awarded $9,000 to the Connecticut Audubon Society to install a Motus antenna at Deer Pond in Sherman, CT. The antenna, which is part of an international wildlife tracking system, will help the Connecticut Audubon Society track and record migration patterns of local birds, bats, and other flying wildlife. The data they obtain will help researchers better understand the behavior of our local wildlife and improve our ability to conserve the environment.
The Danbury News-Times recently ran a story on the successful installation of the antenna array: https://www.newstimes.com/news/article/Robert-Miller-Tiny-tags-tell-of-birds-13450320.php
